Trish Levin and Jan Thornburg prepare paint for Sacramento Emergency Housing resident/artists.

Congratulations to April, our 2009 Women's Opportunity Award winner, and her daughter. April is also a WOA Regional finalist!

Grant Program

Our focus for funding is on organizations that directly serve the Sacramento community, especially those which direct their efforts toward low income women and/or children in need. We also support groups who work to preserve and enhance the environment through local projects. Our grant money must be earmarked specifically for direct services, not for administrative costs, and we like our grants to have impact on the greatest number of people possible.

Most of our grants are awarded for $1,000 or less, although we do award some larger grants. Applicants must be tax exempt organizations, Section 501(c)(3), schools or government entities.

Women's Opportunity Awards

The Women's Opportunity Awards (WOA) are cash awards given to women who are financially responsible for their families and who need to further their education, skills and/or training in order to improve their employment status. Applicants must demonstrate financial need and cannot have already earned an undergraduate degree. To download a PDF version of the application, click here. WOAapplication.pdf
